The importance of research and not get SCAMmed

As of March 2022, we are in nearing Philippine’s Election month that falls on May. And now that campaigning has started, please know the importance of RESEARCH. Every voter should have due diligence of researching his/her candidate as one vote has the power to make a difference for the future, 6 years of administration, of our country since we wouldn’t want to have the same mistakes again and they should not take advantage of our hard earned money (our TAX). But anyway, this post is not focused on politics in the PH and I have no plans of starting any argument of who you want vote, but for me to expose and share my SCAMmed experience here in the Axie Infinity PH Community.

I am deeply disappointed in my mistake as I have lost trust on Facebook Marketplace and this is definitely a charge to experience. Money can be earned but a damaged trust is hard to replace. As I write this blog post, I would like to say sorry in advance for exposing the face of SCAMmers with whom I have interacted. So these accounts may be fake as well but moving on, let’s meet our imposters, namely Daniel P. Coughlin and Roman Budi Septiono.

It was wrong on my part to have NOT RESEARCHED them thoroughly before pushing through as I was blindly hooked with the budget intended as posted in group. So as the saying goes “too good to be TRUE” is heck a slap on my face.

So the modus started by leaving a decent inquiry at the page of Axie Infinity PH Community. But apparently, without me researching the guy I hastily messaged him by offering my team. So seeing the paypal was already suspicious on my part yet my instinct failed me. But if you check his account (if your not blocked yet) he seems like a foreigner fishing to invest. Hay. -______-

At this part, he caught me already as his bait and YET  I was blindly fooled already as I should HAVE really asked my sister in this case (to anyone reading this please don’t say mean words at me as I have wrongly accepted my mistake).

It was just really my own discretion to continue the transaction and while I write this paragraph, my sister told me all she knew that I was about to sell the pets at the Official Site of Axie <THIS IS THE SAFEST PLACE TO BUY AND SELL AXIE.)

Knowing my safest haven at Discord, I SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIRM enough to push the transaction there than have trusted a random guy whom, again, have not researched thoroughly. I am not bluffing with this Discord Place that I know which they LEGITimately has a systematic way of BUY and SELL of axies.

He then sent me an invite link to join the group HE knows “MIR4 – BUY and SELL NFT GAME” – the group seemed legit due to the number of members inside but apparently at this point he was cooking something up for sure (that didn’t sink in my mind)

As I finally got inside with the message receipt for reference below, He then offered to have a group chat with the admin (who is in connive in this modus) – sadly wasn’t able to take a screenshot of the admins inside as they were only two of them, Mr. Daniel and someone.

From there on, I thought it was safe already knowing that the ADMIN is a middleman – but sadly I was easily fooled at this point.

So the next series of conversation is the transaction part, which it somehow felt normal like I used to do at discord. But sadly, this is where I’m totally caught up. And my honest to goodness act was just easily taken advantage.

In here, I was totally off guarded already as my mindset was already fixed that the buyer was foreigner yet HOW WAS I BRAIN WASHED and not think of Daniel having the following accounts?? in PH -____- (imagine he had all the banks yet his page seemed like foreigner living in SG) foolish of me, not to think about that immediately as I write this post.

SO I FELT AS IF IT WAS TRUE, yet got FOOLED SINCE I DID NOT CHECK. so guys!!! always check. IT ALREADY had RED FLAGS like wrong spelling and yet I let this passed me without CHECKING. -____-

would you say if these were even true, after all that has happened and as I try to go through the process of what happened. Reflecting my st*pid mistake. I may have said something bad for myself but don’t LET that SINK into YOU, just LEARN from it and NEVER AGAIN repeat it. 🙂 just be VIGILANT.

So the continuous part of our conversation went on while I’m naively nice to think about the buyer to incur additional charges in case he plans to buy a new set of team on a different day.

Buyer then message me again for the next team that I plan to dispose, ‘coz I knew at the back of my mind he has a budget as what he inquired. Gravely didn’t recognize that it’s a TRICK of manipulation.

So this was our last conversation with the buyer whom he probably blocked me after getting my 2 teams in just a click of a gift through the so-called MIDDLE MAN. Below are the last message we had before they removed me from the group and disabled their accounts.

So from here AFTER my honest gestures, they left me dumbfound as the SCAMmer just immediately removed/blocked me.

Take away from this experience is to not IMMEDIATELY give your trust on social media without RESEARCHing their identity as they may just be trolls of fake account to begin with. Next is to double check your transactions and screenshots, and even their conversation if they mispelled their words. don’t let those small gritty details slip  – was just too complacent of this experience.

So for me to save my face from shame, sharing my experience will hopefully open your eyes and not be blinded as this is just one modus made and I know for sure they’ve fooled a handful of people already in that group. With this, I’m bidding away my regrets and just move forward. In case you would like to be in the discord group that I am confident you’ll not get fooled, just message me on my social media sites available.

Kindly introduce yourself by letting me know you read this post so I can entertain you 🙂

And if this post was useful maybe you could buy me a coffee by clicking the link below to cheer me up from that loss, feel free to comment down your thoughts and last Thank You for reading this ’til the end and be PRUdent of our investments.
