Oh hey there! Thanks for dropping by this personal blog post, you came by just to check what does ditse mean. I normally spell it ditsi as how I pronounce it or ditSY since the capitalize letters forms our surname. But anyways, DITSE means eldest second sister from di ci (“di” means second and “ci” means older sister). Now that you know that, might as well know what ACI means since I’m the eldest of 3SYsters.
Might as well learn a few more family terms that Filipinos use that are in Hokkien Chinese.
- ATE = appellation for eldest sister from a ci (“a” is a prefix for relationships; “ci” means older sister)
- KUYA = appellation for elder brother from ko a (“ko” is an appellation for older brother; “a” is a suffix)
- DIKO = appellation for second elder brother from di ko a (“di” means second and “ko” is an appellation for older brother)
The words above are commonly used for addressing relatives so if your have a bigger family, you just have to combine the numerical in front like (__)ci will be the girl/mother side or (__)ko for boy/father side.
(__) filling this up with basic Hokkien numericals, 3rd = sa, 4th = si, 5th = go, 6th = lak, 7th = chit, 8th = pueh, 9th = kau
Now, you’ll not be surprised hearing these words just in case you attend a chinese family gathering or going to Divisoria in the Phils.
I honestly made this blog post to at least introduce my younger SYster who was born after me and it’s her birth month so she just turned 25 this year 2022, making me feel old as my age gap with her is 6 years – so I’ll be out of the calendar soon. Bummer.
But they say AGE IS JUST A NUMBER, it’s always best to look at the positive thoughts as we grow old. Hope it this applies, the older we get, the wiser we be. Many people think that once they reach a certain age, they are too old to do things that they used to do or want to do. That is not the case! You are never too old to do what you want in life as long as you are physically and mentally able.
A good sample for this situation of a gap is that how me and myke have a two year age gap but luckily I looked way younger than him. Well, he’s even more proud to look more mature than I am. (just a throwback photo below)
Well going back to my ditSY, her name is Shenaider Bless Sy, and she just graduated her 2-degree course in De La Salle University, a scholar even after her intermediate school.
Glad that she finally graduated, but sad at the same time since she didn’t get to experience to walk down the aisle so her diplomas were just sent to her. But good thing she thought of taking a picture of herself back when she was a freshman.
Well, I am proud of my SYster’s achievement or milestone to finish her college degree and bagging an outstanding thesis defense with her team twice.

Calling her ditSY is just a way for me to differentiate her from shobe (it means little sister) the youngest of Tres Marias. Her Nickname is “Bless” – a BLESSing in disguise when she came into this world because my mom had a hard time to conceive. They say middle-child might have problems but that doesn’t seem to show in our scenario since our life story was uncommon.
One of the sweetest and most generous human being I know, not to sugar-coat her but I really am serious. She is no perfect girl or SYster but one thing is for sure, you’ll be blessed to have her. P.S. i love you both
I haven’t really uttered those words to my 2 younger SYblings but definitely my service and care to them showed how I cherish both of them despite the challenge God gave me.
Her birth month, July, is pretty much in her favor as she got a chance to welcome a new chapter of her work life, she was able to get an experience how e-commerce works in shopee after handling an account on her first job after graduation.
Now that she is off for a new job description, I pray that she may continue to do well in her career! She definitely wanted to get in SM Management Training and finally she got in. Hope her double major degree, Design Management and Psychology, can be of purpose to her career development and future. Pixelated her name for her own privacy and security.
Her, yr2022 self, think out of a box mind was me way back her age the type of person to grab each opportunity God lead/showed me, it was an eye-opener kind of stage honestly. It’s when how you learn to deal the real world and as of to date I still have the same attitude but making small stepping stones to my goal on a different perspective. Blogging is one platform that I do but my building asset is MSSW & Associates and being a Financial Adviser under PRUlife UK. Not an easy road path honestly but it will be worthwhile, so I am trusting this process in His name.
Comparing myself to others is a bit harsh on myself but when I look back at what I have done, I could be proud of myself in an authentic way. We shouldn’t compare ourselves to other but continue to take action to your target goals because we may feel left behind but I hope this quote could lessen your anxiety.
9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Explanation: We will be collecting the crops that we are sowing today. We should not be discouraged while we do not get any good thing from this world as God will bless us at the time of his judgment.
